White Phosphorous grenade

The No.77 was used to create smoke-screens and could also be used for its incendiary effects.
It's body was made of thin tinned steel and a No.247 "always" fuze was fitted.
The detonator had to be inserted before use by unscrewing the top collar together with the fuze.
Shown in the photo is the Mk1, the Mk2 had a flat base.

Length: 118mm, Diameter: 58mm.
Weight 383 gram.
