The No.22 started off as the Newton-Pippin grenade.
It was in use since 1915.
The MkI and MkII have bodies as shown on the photos.
It has a percussion igniter that worked on impact.
The Mk2 had a re-designed cap fitted.

Length rod: 381mm.
Diameter: 51mm.
Weight: 722gram(Mk1), 680gram(Mk2)
Filling: 70gram ammonal or amatol.
