This fuze may be either cylindrical or rectangular in shape; the operational features of both are identical.
The fuze can be set for a delay, within six hour accuracy, up to 35 days.
It is primarily used to detonate mines or charges placed in areas abandoned to the enemy.
A knob in the clock face, attached to the setting indicator dial, sets the clock at the desired time delay.
A winding key is provided for the winding post located at the bottom of the face.
At the end of the delay period, the clockwork release lever trips a spring loaded striker, closing the circuit between the two electric leads, one at a time.
